People used to be allowed to have a smoke in public places. If a man wanted to light a cigar when shopping with his wife in store or working his colleagues in the office , he could .People around would think nothing of his smoking .
However,it is totally a different story now.as we all know, smoking is harmful, for smoking can lead to many diseases(such as lung cancer and emphysema) and passive smoking is more harmful than active smoking. In public places, the disadvantage of smoking is greater, this is connected with another effect of smoking, that is ,smoking pollutes environment by giving much poisonous vapour off into the air.
Obviously, banning smoking in public benefits people a lot.First,non-smokers are free from passive smoking and its harm.Second, air quality and our environment wil be improved now that people have less chance to smoke in the public places.

Many students consider applying for job very important after graduation. They think it will affect their course of lives, their circle of friends, and even their choice of spouses in the future. The following are two suggestions that you should consider when looking for a job.
First, you should have an awareness of yourself, your personal interests in particular. Generally speaking, your interest supplies your motivation and energy for work. If you don't have any interest in the job, you are sure to be bored by it even if it is a highly paid one. Second, you should have knowledge of the job itself. The job you are looking for should neither be beyond your reach nor should it be too easy. Instead, it should bring your abilities into full play. Going to work that is too difficult may only lead to frustration and failure. Going to work that is too easy, however, will be a waste of your knowledge, and you will soon lose interest in it. Besides, you should think of the prospect of the job. Will you have a promising future if you take the job? Do not be misled by the present salary it offers. Think of its future development. It is important to weigh the immediate advantages against the long term prospects of the job.
At this point, it is always advisable that you turn to your parents, your teachers, and your friends for help if you cannot make the decision. They are the people who know you the best. You can also ask some job advisors for advice. They are usually experienced and can give you some valuable hints. Of course, it is you who have to make the final decision.
That was a morning in the early of June. I took a bus to my school in the suburb which was surrounded by rice paddies and ponds. The sky was gray with the gloomy clouds congregating gradually along the far eastern horizon. "There must be a heavy rain soon." I spoke to myself.
When I hurried into the classroom, the sky, gray before, was shrouded now by black clouds, darken to twilight, I felt quite stuffy, while it was quite calm, without wind. I saw the leaves of trees and grass static, which seem to await something tohappen. Several minutes later, I saw the lightening split the clouds and heard the thunders following. Suddenly, the curtain of rain fell and the wind blew. soon the grass flattened under the wind and the rain. With the rain forming like a fog, the sky became bright. I took several deep breathes. I felt comfortable. The heavy rain lasted three hours and stopped when the class was over. The air was so fresh and the sky was so clear. I felt like a new man myself.(約180字)
I used to hang out with my foreign friends in coffee bars or somewhere else we liked to have a gathering. We talked about anything we were interested in and we sometimes made funny conclusions. I, somehow, believe that some of the conclusions are so right that even somebody from authorities could not deny them!
Having been an English teacher in China for three years, a Canadian friend of mine concluded that the Chinese people are not happy, at least they don’t look like they are. She had her reasons and I took them as reasonable ones. She walked to office and home every day. And she liked to observe the people passing by her. She found out that most of the passer-bys did not look happy. Even though some people said “Hi” to her, she only took that as kind of tease, because of the way they speaking it.
She said the Chinese people were either not friendly or too friendly to her. She made some examples to show that she was right. I had a small rebate against her and later on I gave it up. I knew some of her comments on our Chinese people are right. She also had lots of misunderstandings, which I took that as a natural thing. Most of her opinions still make sense now!
The other thing happened to her is one day she was taking shower inside a publish bathroom, when a mid-age women went straightly and directly to her, touching her breasts and holding them for a second without noticing her and said: What big breasts! She told me she was almost scared the shits out of her. She said: What the f*ck are you doing to the women, but she just smiled and stepped away. My Canadian friend took it as a great insult, and she never goes to that bathroom again!
Except saying that is an unexceptional case in China, I could say nothing, cause I knew some people would do that in China. After all, we do have less-educated or none-educated people in our country.
Give your comments to me if you have encountered or been told anything similar to this case.
